InflammaFree is dedicated to addressing the critical nutritional imbalances in our food environment that disproportionately harm Black communities. The current food system has unnaturally high levels of omega-6 fatty acids, particularly linoleic acid (LA). Due to common genetic variations, many Black individuals are more efficient at converting LA to arachidonic acid (AA), which can lead to increased inflammation when LA is consumed in excess. This mismatch between our biology and the modern food supply urgently needs to be addressed.
